Postural/Exercise Rehabilitation

Postural/exercise rehabilitation is a vital part of any post injury treatment program but also of paramount importance with any horse/rider combination that are not currently achieving their goals.

Lorna has trained in a variety of groundwork and bodywork techniques and is able to tailor a exercise program for each individual animal.  In the case of horse riders this is likely to include specific ridden exercises as well as simple bodywork and/or exercises in hand.

McTimoney Animal Therapy is a great way to help alleviate pain and discomfort but recognising poor postural habits and correcting them is of paramount importance to reach optimal function and performance. Poor posture can result from compensatory movement patterns after injury or be linked to conformation or training methods.  Without addressing posture, both static and dynamic, the animal's muscles will continue to develop in an unhelpful and incorrect way, which will inevitably lead to further problems or injury.

Many of my clients have benefitted from lessons both on and off their horses. Dog owners feel empowered when they are able to recognise where they are able to help their dogs by altering certain aspects of their training and adding groundwork and bodywork into their routine.
